What we process and why
- Enquiries: your name, company, e-mail, phone and the claim details you send, to assess the claim and reply to you.
- Clients: identity, contact, power-of-attorney and file data, to provide legal services, run enforcement and court proceedings through UYAP (the Turkish judicial network), report to you and keep accounts.
- Debtors and other parties: identity, address, asset and contact data needed for the proceedings, as permitted by Turkish procedural law.
- Website visitors: this site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Fonts are served by Google Fonts and the site by Cloudflare; those services technically see your IP address.
Legal basis
Performance of the engagement with you, our legal obligations as attorneys under the Turkish Attorneys' Act (Law no. 1136), and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (KVKK art. 5/2; GDPR art. 6(1)(b), (c), (f) and art. 9(2)(f) where relevant). We do not rely on consent for these purposes.
Who receives the data
Only as the proceedings require: Turkish courts, enforcement offices, UYAP, notaries, banks, postal and service providers, sworn translators and authorities entitled by law. We do not sell data or share it for marketing.
International transfers
Data you send us from the EU/EEA or elsewhere is processed in Türkiye, which is the place of the proceedings. Türkiye has no EU adequacy decision; the transfer is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (GDPR art. 49(1)(e)) and for the performance of your instructions. We can sign a data processing or controller agreement if your policies require one.
Retention
File records are kept for at least three years after the file closes (Attorneys' Act art. 39) and longer where tax or other law requires, then deleted.
Where it is stored
File records are kept in our office systems in Türkiye and in our own case-management software. E-mail is hosted by Google (Gmail).
Your rights
You may ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, or object to processing, under KVKK art. 11 and, where it applies, GDPR arts. 15–21. Write to [email protected]; we answer within 30 days. EU data subjects may also complain to their supervisory authority.
